The Center was founded in 1974 byface5 a committee of churches and neighborhood activists who saw the need for a center to support the independence of older adults. From a single social worker working out of her car, the Center has grown to a staff of 10 experienced, dedicated employees based in an historic building in the heart of Hyde Park.
